Breakthrough
A few weeks ago, I decided to tell one of “my” vets that we were feeding our frenchies raw. This particular vet is well above average, as in she works the way I like. But, as expected, she thought it was outrageous I fed raw bones to my frenchies. “It was dangerous and I didn’t know how to balance a dog’s diet”.
Well, I won’t lie, this was not unexpected. But today she just left me a message asking why I don’t offer them a prey model kind of nutrition, since it was already balanced. As I told her I didn’t know where they sold whole carcasses here and that the supplements I offered tried to mimic these nutrients that were not offered when I gave the dogs only some chicken, beef, fish and pork parts, I couldn’t help but notice - at least she is now asking about raw and kind of questioning it.
I really hope that someday we’ll have many vets in Brazil studying raw and actually recommending it. There’s a journalist who is also a vet student, she’s one of the main people who pushed me into it, and I hope she graduates soon, because she is brilliant. She’ll have many clients in no time. :)
